Alfred Dunhill Ltd. has signed a five-year license contract with Allison USA to design, manufacture, and distribute Dunhill sunglasses and ophthalmic eyewear. The new line uses high performance materials such as titanium. A total of 32 styles will be introduced in three collections. Dunhill's Motorities collection is based on his motoring heritage and features sleek styles. A more relaxed sunwear collection has also been introduced including wrap-arounds and aviators. The ophthalmic collection features elegant styles for the modern man. Wholesale prices for sunwear range from $89 to $139, and for ophthalmic from $84 to $119. ALAIN MIKLI ANNOUNCES ALUX

ALUX, the new collection designed by Philippe Starck for Alain Mikli, features three sunglass styles and five ophthalmic styles. Made from mostly aluminum, the ALUX frames are twice as light as titanium frames. The ophthalmic frames are molded and cut from a single piece of monobloc face and use no welding. The "Biolink" replaces a traditional screw hinge, and was inspired by the natural intelligence of the human arm. Lenses are class one for optical quality and are impact resistant. Polarization is also offered on sunwear. Lenses feature non-glare coating as well as anti-fog and smudge resistant coating. Wholesale prices range from $262 to $292. David Eden has been a part of the fashion industry for 14 years with a clothing, footwear, and accessories line. Now he's producing eyewear, and has launched several ophthalmic collections, including The Solid Gold Collection and The Metalee Collection. Mirage, part of the Gold collection, has 36 white diamonds set on 14-karat gold frames. Wholesale price is $1,695. The Metalee Collection uses monel frames and includes Mory, a rose gold frame which wholesales for $195. David Eden has also launched the Jewel Collection which features frames adorned with genuine jewels such as rubies, emeralds, and sapphires. In March, David Eden will launch The Exotica Collection, which includes frames made in Italy with genuine ostrich leather, Swarovsky crystals, and polarized lenses.
