New Additions
PolyVue Distribution, Inc., has added to its PolyVue High Definition family of presbyopic contact lenses with the addition of a -1.50 cylinder power to the HDX Toric Progressive CL. The fully molded, planned replacement CL with aberration-reducing High Definition optics can now be fitted on patients with up to a -2.25 cylinder requirement. The design incorporates a toric back surface stabilized with a prism ballast to provide consistent vision at all distances. For information, contact Tamiko Ishidate at 877-734-2010.
Equipment
Lab Friendly
Gerber Coburn has enhanced the software in its Dimetrix lens verification and finish blocker by adding several new advanced features. Co-developed with Visionix, Ltd., Dimetrix automatically verifies and blocks single-vision, multifocal, and progressive lenses.
Dimetrix now streamlines lens verification and the finish blocking process even further, according to company representatives. Frame Mode provides full job verification that allows the operator to view both eyes prior to blocking the second lens. Left and right prism imbalance settings ensure that PALs are within prism tolerances. Dimetrix now automatically recognizes dotted lenses, a key to reducing manual blocking time. A daily maintenance mode has been added as well.
