Manuel Solis, Transitions Transitions Optical, Inc., has promoted Manuel Solis to the position of multicultural marketing manager, North America. He will continue to expand Transitions Optical's Hispanic and multicultural initiatives through the development of new marketing strategies, programs and resources. Solis joined Transitions Optical in 2005, and most recently held the position of regional sales manager for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Previously, he worked in marketing positions at CooperVision, Inc., and Essilor. INDO announced that Alex Bouin has assumed the responsibility of Indo's Free-form Solutions and Expert Lens Division. He joined Indo in 2002 as the equipment area manager, joined the strategic market department in 2004, and in March 2007 he moved to Indo's Chicago office. Over the past two and a half years he has been developing launches of new U.S. products such as the units of refraction and Indo's new range of instruments. |

American Business Media named Shamir's "Keeping Your Attention" ad campaign a winner of the 14th Annual CEBA (Creative Excellence in Business Advertising) Awards in the Single Ad–Spread or Larger category. The CEBA Awards recognize top business-to-business advertising campaigns from 2008 and 2009. This is Shamir's second CEBA Award; the first was awarded in 2008 for its "In the Office: Autoreply" campaign. ClearVision Optical was honored at The New York Enterprise Report's 2009 Small Business Awards with the Best Practice Award for Human Resources and Leadership. While ClearVision remains true to its roots as a family business, company representatives note it has complemented this culture with human resources and leadership initiatives that have yielded tangible results for the company.
The Dallas County Commissioners Court recently passed a resolution recognizing Essilor Vision Foundation for providing free vision screenings, eye exams, and glasses to youths of the Dallas County Juvenile Justice Center. The resolution states that the Dallas County Commissioners Court "extends its sincere appreciation to Essilor Vision Foundation for its assistance in supporting youth and families in Dallas County and has our support for its efforts to address one of the issues that plague our schools and juvenile population."

Utah-based Opticare of Utah, a licensed, limited health insurance plan that provides vision coverage for employers, was recently recognized by Mountain West Capital Network as one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Utah. The "Utah 100" is determined by the percentage of revenue increases from 2004 through 2008. Over this four-year period, Opticare has experienced a revenue growth of 65 percent, hitting the list's 51st spot.
