Connoisseur's Eyewear
Mykita's Luxe collection defines state-of-the-art luxury with creative use of both traditional and modern materials. The extra-fine hinge system of the Lite series meets natural nosepads and temple tips made from buffalo horn, finished with precious metal coatings, such as platinum and white gold.
The natural horn is supplied by Hoffman Natural Eyewear, a German manufacturer of horn products. Hoffman sources the materials from Indian water buffalo that have died of natural causes. The horn has positive properties that have traditionally made it an excellent choice for spectacle frames, as it is extremely skin-friendly and has a warm, individual, and natural look.
The line re-interprets popular classics dating back to the first half of the 20th century. There are two panto styles: Sigmund (small and round) comes in size 44/23-135 and Nikolas (the squarer shape) comes in 45/21-135. The panto styles feature a lacquer coating around lenses, inspired by the acetate applications traditionally found on “Windsor Style” eyewear. Traditionalists will choose the combination of chocolate brown lacquer with white gold, while those with modern tastes may prefer a combination of platinum coating, coal gray lacquer, and dark gray horn.
There are also two basic contemporary shapes: Freidrich (53/17-135) and Johannes (55/18-135). Both are rectangular and easy to wear, and are available in graphite, platinum, and white gold.
