| The latest addition to Marcolin's eyewear collection for John Galliano, JG17 is a men's sunglass model inspired by the stylist's darker side together with his attraction to mystery, secrecy, and ambiguity. The chunk spin on the aviator has a squarer shape and vintage acetate colors that mesh with the gradient lenses to create a chic shade with an urban gothic feel. The new model is embellished with three-dimensional metal JG logos applied to the endpiece area and the John Galliano logo is also engraved on the temple and the right-hand lens. The model 17 sunglass is offered in a dramatic color palette that runs from the sober tones of black (01A) coupled with smoky lenses and dark Havana coupled with roviex lenses, to the edgier look of Havana that features strips of ivory acetate or blue and crystal. The collection is handcrafted in acetate or stainless steel with careful finishing and details, all created with fit and maximum comfort as a priority. Produced in six base, the sunglasses can be fitted with prescription lenses and have a “stop hinge” to prevent deterioration of the lens and its inside anti-reflective coating at the temple contact point. All models are fitted with glamourous graduated CR39 or polycarbonate category 3 lenses, finished with an inside anti-reflective coating for visual comfort. All lenses are 100 percent UV CAT3. Looking into the world behind this women's collection of sunglasses, each of the new offerings blends modern technology with the timeless beauty of plant-inspired shapes and details. Four concepts are available that harmonize perfectly with the prescription collection. Ivy Sun repeats the sleek look of the best-selling prescription version, with a wide stainless steel temple. Six stainless steel strands are interlaced and joined at the end-piece to form an ornamental and discreet temple. The interlaced pattern of the temple seamlessly blends with the acetate front in black, white, and tortoiseshell. The Vanille Sun concept consists of high-shape, seventies-style products with elegant temples combining decorative and transparent elements. The frame is complemented with a stainless steel endpiece assembly in the shape of a Vanilla flower. Cactus Sun shapes have been worked to achieve lightness and discreet elegance. Stainless steel temples repeat the Cactus theme with the curved shape of the cactus leaf worked in three dimensions. The wraparound and glamour shape also appears in the fronts with the “forked” endpiece, present on one acetate version and one stainless steel version. Colchique Sun frames provide volume and play on visual contrasts. Boldly defined acetate fronts and slim tri-injection temples create stylized floral decorative elements depicting the crocus flower at the endpiece.
