Reichert Technologies recently named Christopher A. Thatcher as division vice president and business unit manager. In his new role, Thatcher will be responsible for Reichert’s global businesses. Prior to joining Match, he spent 17 years at Emerging Vision, Inc., most recently serving as president of both the Combine Buying Group in the U.S. and The Optical Group in Canada. Sam Herskowitz, Match Eyewear Viva International Group has promoted Mark Mischik to director of sales, retail sun division. In his new role, Mischik will oversee retail sales and will report directly to Jan Cory, Viva’s senior vice president of sales for the U.S. and Canada. Mark Mischik, Viva International Group Optometry Giving Sight has announced that Juan Carlos Aragon, OD, senior vice president, Americas region for CooperVision, will be the inaugural chair of the organization’s new Global Development Board (GDB). At the Prima Eye Group conference, Irving Bennett, OD, was honored for his many years of leadership and service to the profession. Prima co-founders Neil Gailmard, OD, and Jerry Hayes, OD, presented Bennett with a plaque at a special dinner event, which was held at Disney World’s Great Hall of China in Epcot Center in Florida.
