Frame Buyer Program
Stephanie K. De Long
If you or an associate is considering going to next month’s International Vision Expo East show in NewYork, we suggest you sign on for some of the Frame Buyer courses. Designed for dispensary managers, staff, and, especially, buyers, these courses are all part of the Frame Buyer Certificate Program.
Eyecare Business is proud to co-sponsor this program—conducted at both International Vision Expo East and West—along with The Vision Council’s Eyewear and Accessories Division. If you take a total of eight hours of education on this track, you will automatically become a “graduate” of the program and receive a certificate of completion to display at your location.
So, who’s previously completed these certificate programs? Opticians. New employees. Dispensary managers. ODs looking to learn more about the purchasing process. And, of course, dispensing staff and buyers from businesses big and small.
The 15 hours of Frame Buyer Certificate Program courses being offered in NewYork will be taught by a strong mix of buyers, opticians, frame-side vendors, consultants, ECPs, and outside experts. Topics include Frame Design and Development, How to Avoid and Deal With Frame Buying Missteps, and Vendor Selection, Evaluation, and Inventory Planning, as well as two panels organized and moderated by Eyecare Business—Visual Merchandising Experts Panel and Taping Into Your Inner Retailer, both of which feature a mix of optical and retail experts.
If your schedule doesn’t allow for eight hours of courses from this category in March, that’s no problem. You can complete them at another Vision Expo show and still earn the certificate.
This year’s continuing education program runs from March 14 to 17. And don’t miss the all-new Chief eXperience Officer Certificate program, slated for Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eyecare Business is also proud to be the exclusive media partner for that important new program, as well as the Visionomics series of business-building courses.
Whatever your agenda for Vision Expo, we hope to see you there.

WHAT THEY SAID… |

At EB, we are very proud to be the exclusive media partner for the VISIONOMICS PROGRAM, as well as the all-new CHIEF EXPERIENCE OFFICER CERTIFICATE PROGRAM. Among the topics scheduled for the Visionomics track at Vision Expo East are Forensic Study to Grow Profits, Engineering a $60,000-Day Trunk Show, and Strategic Business Development. Here’s a quick look at what some previous speakers in the Visionomics series of COPE- and ABO-approved business-building courses have addressed in their past sessions: MAXIMIZING OPPORTUNITIES“In the optical, highlight benefits, not features, and reduce the tech talk. Give them one feature that they will go home and tell others about: ‘Honey, you need to get your glasses treated so you will see better at night’ or ‘We need to send Mom in to…’” — Carole Burns, OD, FCOVD, Professional Vision Care MANAGING GEN X AND GEN Y“As a mentor, you’ll want Gen Xers to work with you, not for you. To connect with Gen Y employees, put your training into videos.” — Gary Gerber, OD, The Power Practice FREE VS. FEE“Honest, friendly patient education is one of the best services we can give away for free. And, it’s one that will benefit everyone. On the other hand, giving away services for free tells the world that there is no value to what we do.” — Mark Johnson, Virginia Eye Institute |
