Prescription sunglass wearers are getting a sweet dose of fun options with the new Candie’s Eyewear sun collection by Viva International Group.
The 12 new prescription-ready sunglass styles are fun and fashionable, designed for trend-loving fashionista girls and women. Flattering shapes cover the gamut of fresh and classic styles including wayfarers, aviators, and glam ovals with chic temple treatments, such as animal prints, heart designs, and floral patterns. The collection ties in to Candie’s accessories collection, bringing inspiration to the new sunglasses with on-trend pops of orange, green, and yellow, as well as animal patterns in neutral tones of gold, plum, gunmetal, black, and brown.
“We’re excited about the introduction of prescription-ready sunglasses to the Candie’s Eyewear collection,” says Viva’s vice president of merchandising for domestic brands Timm Parker. “The collection takes its direction from the fun and flirty design themes found in the Candie’s clothing and accessories collection and translates them into a variety of quality sunglass options for today’s Candie’s girl.”
Merchandising materials include three-piece, 12-piece, and 24-piece displays, mirrors, logo plaques, and counter-cards, as well as banners featuring the current campaign image and a window display new for 2013.

SERENGETI INTRODUCES GENUS COLLECTION
Pushing technical boundaries, the latest Serengeti line, the Genus Collection, is hitting the market with frames and lenses made from a strong material traditionally used for lenses. High-tech and lightweight, the five Genus models use Trivex material for both frame fronts and lenses. Lighter and more durable than polycarbonate material, company representatives note that Trivex was chosen for several inherent characteristics desirable for eyewear.
STRONG AND LIGHT: Trivex allows for frame shapes in dimensions that might compromise durability if executed in other materials.
OVERALL AESTHETICS: The material creates a virtually seamless transition between the sunglasses’ lenses and frame front. The styles feature sleek looks with milled stainless steel temples to boost structural integrity and flexibility while adding a contrasting design element.
The Trivex lenses provide the platform for Serengeti’s exclusive Polar PhD lenses, which are fitted to all Genus styles. Available in a number of tints, Polar PhD lenses optimize common interactions with light, reducing eye strain and improving visual acuity.
“The Genus collection perfectly epitomizes the Serengeti approach to making sunglasses,”said Dani LaGace, global director of eyewear. “Our eyewear utilizes the best new technologies to deliver industry-leading performance without ever compromising style.”
