Bollé has entered into a three-year partnership contract with NBA star and San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, under which Parker will serve as brand ambassador.

Vision Technology students from The School of Cooperative Technical Education engaged in a guided demonstration of the latest edging equipment by Mark Kaplan and Santinelli International.

Essilor of America has been awarded The Good Housekeeping Research Institute’s Good Housekeeping Seal for select products within its Crizal No-Glare lenses line, including Crizal Easy UV, Crizal Avancé UV, Crizal Alizé UV, Crizal Sapphire UV, Crizal SunShield Mirrors UV, and Crizal SunShield UV lenses.

GOOD DEEDS

Safilo Group has announced its commitment to support Help for Life, an Italian non-profit organization dedicated to solidarity projects in Africa. Safilo will be donating 4,000 optical frames during the year, and is currently supporting the Ethiopia Project.

In an effort to raise awareness about the importance of healthy vision and its connection to success on the field and in the classroom, Transitions Optical, Inc., teamed up with baseball legend Cal Ripken, Jr., and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation to bring free eyecare services and a baseball clinic to more than 100 children in need at the Sulphur Springs Boys & Girls Club in Tampa. The event marks the first of several events in which Transitions Optical, Cal Ripken, Jr., and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation will join forces to bring these services to underserved children across the country.

AWARDS

Dallas Independent School District (ISD) superintendent of schools Mike Miles recognized Essilor Vision Foundation with the 2013 Superintendent’s Award for the organization’s outstanding ongoing support of Dallas ISD. Since 2008, Essilor Vision Foundation has partnered with schools across the district to provide vision screenings, eye exams, and new eyeglasses to thousands of children in need at no cost to their families.
