1 All that Glitters

Getting some shine for summer, Safilo presents the Gucci Diamante capsule collection. The distinctive diamante pattern is plucked from Gucci’s archives and translated in a glitter version for sunglass and ophthalmic frame styles.

This pattern adorns the new Gucci eyewear collection, which includes six sunglasses and two ophthalmic frames, as well as three Asian Fit sunglasses.

The Diamond Glitter models feature the GG metal logo on the temples. Also, the models are offered in shimmering, summery shades of black/gold, brown/gold, beige/ice, blue/silver, black/silver, Havana/gold, and red/gold.

5 Sight and Spirit

All Eyes of Faith Optical styles are created with faith-conscious patients in mind. The latest creations from co-founder and vice president of product development Amy Schneider incorporate symbols such as the cross, stained glass, or ichthys fish into frames of the original Eyes of Faith collection. The Eyes of Faith style 1006, shown above, symbolizes the Trinity with three distinctive rivets, and fashion-forward, woodgrain-textured acetate temples that reference the look of the cross. In the spirit of the collection, the company has launched a program in which it will donate a pair of glasses or sunglasses to needy individuals via the Eyes of Faith Foundation Wear & Share program for each purchase made.

Picture Yourself… Persol from Luxottica has been inspired by cameras in the creation of the Persol Reflex Collection. The Italian-made collection includes an optical model (PO 3044V) and two sunglass models (PO 3046S and PO 3047S) featuring polarized and photochromic-polarized lenses. “Persol Reflex Edition is inspired by vintage-design analogue cameras reinterpreted using modern technology: a fascinating and modern cult object which has captured the memories of generations and reshaped history and the visual arts,” note Luxottica representatives.
