Colonel Donald Gagliano, MD, has joined Bausch + Lomb as its newest vice president, global development operations. MODO Eyewear has appointed Liz Tontodonati to the position of vice president of marketing and licensed brands. Previously she held management positions at Carrera, Marcolin, and Viva International Group. High Performance Optics has appointed Larry Rodriguez chief operating officer. Rodriguez is an experienced senior executive, and has held key positions with Pixel Optics and other companies. BUSINESS UPDATES
PixelOptics has stopped distribution of its first-generation Empower electronic focusing eyewear product and is working on a second-generation version. The redesigned product is expected to launch later this year.
Transitions Adaptive Sunglasses, a line of automatically adjusting sunglasses and shields from Transitions Optical, Inc., will be the 2013 presenting sponsor for The Grill Room, a weekly, two-hour radio show about golf. Hosted by Bob Bubka and Alex Miceli, the show airs Saturdays and Sundays on the PGA TOUR Network on Sirius 208/XM 93.

Prevent Blindness America will be hosting its sixth annual Swing Fore Sight Golf Tournament at the Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas on Oct. 2, 2013, in conjunction with 2013 International Vision Expo West.
