Dog Days
Pets in practice…a hot new staffing trend in optical
IF YOU ASK ANY OF US AT EYECARE BUSINESS, EVERY DAY IS A DOG…OR CAT OR FISH DAY.
We all have pets at home, and on days when I work in my home office, my 10-year-old assistant, Tucker, sits next to me…and never clocks out. His only fault? He’s not a very good proofreader.
In the last year, we’ve noticed more optical pets popping up in dispensaries and offices around the country. That is, in fact, what prompted Amy Spiezio’s article, “Practices Made Perfect,” in last month’s issue. What she learned is that not only do four-legged friends frequent optical offices, but at least in the case of rep David Cutler’s dog Rocco, they also go on sales calls.
To honor—and learn more about—those of you who’ve made pets part of your practice, we’ve launched a “Tails from the Office” contest. Check out all the details below, and, to see us with our own furry (and finned) friends, turn to page 89. You’ll also find more details about the contest there.
