THINK ABOUT IT
This month, Think About Your Eyes (TAYE) will once again launch a national cable television, radio, print, and digital advertising campaign, as well as consumer engagement through social media, to raise awareness about the benefits of vision health and receiving an annual comprehensive eye exam. Since the national launch last July, the TAYE website has generated more than 700,000 visits, with more than 80 percent of visitors using doctor locator feature. TAYE reports a 3.5 percent increase in overall eye exams in Q3 of 2013 alone.
“As the campaign continues to elevate the importance of vision care as an integral part of overall health and wellness,” says Ed Greene, CEO of The Vision Council, “eyecare providers will see an increase in eye exam visits from both new and existing patients.”
Support from the eyecare community continues to be a crucial component of the campaign’s success. Hilco, Spy, and Gunnar Optiks are the latest industry partners to join the national effort. Other partners include National Vision, Inc. (NVI), Refac Optical Group, SpecialEyes, Walman Optical, Essilor, Transitions Optical, The Vision Council, and Luxottica.
“To keep the momentum going in 2014, we want and need even more eyecare providers to join the effort, and hope current members continue to spread the word about the benefits of Think About Your Eyes among their peers,” says Greene.
ECPs who wish to become TAYE members can visit thinkaboutyoureyes.com/enroll or contact Jon Torrey, director, professional relations, at jtorrey@thinkaboutyoureyes.com.
