Vision-Ease Lens is bringing its Coppertone polarized lenses to consumers in a more interactive way than ever before. Its newly redesigned and mobile-responsive website features sharp layout and intuitive navigation that allows consumers to learn more about Coppertone polarized lenses wherever they are—at home, at an ECP’s office, or on the go.
The design prominently features Coppertone polarized lenses ambassador and U.S. soccer legend Mia Hamm. Visitors are encouraged to learn more about the lenses through revamped navigation at the top of the page.
Because the website is mobile-responsive, the layout and design adjust based on the device accessing the site—tablet or smartphone. This helps the website load more quickly on mobile devices, and presents the information in an engaging, user-friendly way.

EDUCATION APP-LICATION
To help eyecare professionals educate patients about the causes and effects of UV exposure and steps they can take to help protect their eyes from UV rays, The Vision Care Institute, LLC (TVCI), part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, has launched a new educational resource: The Vision Care Institute UV Protection App.
Practitioners and office staff can use this helpful resource during patient evaluations and follow-up communications to demonstrate:
• Who needs protection
• The cumulative effects of UV rays on the eyes
• The impact of environmental exposure to the eyes throughout the day
• Steps to take to help protect eyes from UV.
The app is free and was designed specifically for use with the iPad. It can be downloaded via the U.S. Apple App Store.

ANTI-FOG SITE
In conjunction with the launch of its new-and-improved Optifog lenses and activator cloth, Essilor is unveiling a redesigned look and experience on its product-specific website, geared for consumers and ECPs alike. The redesigned site is more user-friendly and houses upgraded features such as direct access to the brand’s social media pages and a stream of consumer-focused eye health and brand content from the Essilor newsroom (news.essilorusa.com).
Optifog lenses include a unique top layer containing fog-repellent properties on both the front and back side of the lens that are activated through the daily use of the Optifog activator cloth. Simply wiping the Optifog lenses with the cloth can provide long-lasting protection against fog.

WEB SCHOOL
The American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) offers a host of web seminars. The seminars are offered on a monthly basis and cover a variety of topics. These 60-minute seminars provide an interactive venue to learn about the latest in legislative and regulatory compliance in addition to a host of other informative subjects relating to practice management.
Presentations dealing with some topics in government relations are offered free to ASOA members, with other web seminars available for a nominal fee. After presentation, all web seminars are housed in the ASOA MediaCenter and are available free, or for purchase (if applicable), and download. All web seminars qualify as either 1.0 Category A or Category B COE credit (depending upon the content of the presentation).
