CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
in an effort to help ECPs make an emotional connection with consumers on their website, the Clompus Consulting Group is introducing a digital audio service that creates a personal message from the doctor. A personalized script will highlight the practice’s strategic advantages, giving consumers reasons to select the office for services. Led by Richard Clompus, O.D., the group coaches each client to record their 60- to 90-second infomercial from the privacy of their office or home, using an Internet connection and a high-quality, noise-reducing headset.
The result is a professionally edited audio message from the ECP about why visitors to the website should choose the office for their services. The messages can be refreshed several times a year.

APP MAKES REFERRALS EASY
Created by two optometrists—Charles J. Turner, O.D., and Chris H. Cooper, O.D.—Go Where I Go (GWIG) is an app designed to make it easy for patients to refer others to your practice. GWIG enables users to connect their friends to businesses (not just opticals) they’ll like. Users can send a digital business card with digital information and a map location from the businesses they trust to friends without spam, ads, or reviews from strangers. The app can also act as a “smart Rolodex,” allowing other users to search categories to get recommendations. Subscribing businesses are able to track this referral data, helping them hone their marketing efforts.

BEING SOCIAL, REACHING OUT
As new or prospective patients visit your business website or Facebook page, it is important to give them a simple way to connect with the practice. The best way is to provide a place for them to enter their email address and name. A simple “sign up for a newsletter” or “join our eyewear club” is all that is needed.
Two online companies that have all the tools needed to design, implement, and track those who sign up are ConstantContact.com or MailChimp.com. The services make it easy to send “welcome” emails and design and distribute newsletters to patients.
