STAND UP EYEWEAR
REM INTRODUCES SPINE EYEWEAR
Fit and comfort are the calls to action for the new collection, Spine Eyewear, from REM Eyewear. A patented segmented hinge and cable system flexes the temples in all directions, including inward, and securely holds the frame in place on wearers’ heads. As a result, the new eyewear designs eliminate the need to constantly push eyewear back up. Holding eyewear in its proper place is a significant feature when involved in physical activities, and a vital one for the proper fit of multifocal lenses. The collection rolls out with eight ophthalmic and four sunwear styles primarily targeted toward the male market, but with unisex options.
The development of Spine Eyewear is a global collaboration between U.S.-based REM Eyewear, Canadian supplier Centennial, and Mondottica’s UK- and Hong Kong-based companies. REM will distribute Spine exclusively in the U.S. market, while Centennial will service Canada and Mondottica will serve other international markets.

MYWOODI ROLLS OUT AFFORDABLE WOOD EYEWEAR FROM WOODONE
MyWoodi originated at WooDone, an Italian manufacturer of wooden eyewear already known for its superior quality and craftsmanship. With MyWoodi, entrepreneurs Klaus Tavella and Thomas Oberegger, and their new partner Alexander Fischnaller, say they intend to make wooden eyewear an accessible option for a wider consumer marketplace.
Featured in the first collection are 12 styles—five sunglasses and seven ophthalmic styles—in six different types of wood and colors.
Composed of eight layers of wood, the eyewear features natural wood on the outside and color options on the inside layers. Sixty processing phases, 15 of which are carried out by hand, yield a product that weighs in at less than half an ounce. An invisible side hinge completes the look.

OGI EYEWEAR RELEASES NEW INNOTEC SUN COLLECTION
Innotec, an Ogi Eyewear brand, debuts its new collection of sunglasses. Applying Innotec’s proprietary fusion of materials and technology creates a sun collection featuring three new styles: Denton, a contrasting-colored square shape; Fenwick, a rectangle with strong brow styling; and Willow, a universally pleasing style with mirrored lenses. The styles are generally masculine, but have some crossover appeal.
The eyewear pairs hand-painted TR-90 with German Wagner stainless steel for bold shapes that showcase cutting-edge materials and design. The bold, colorful styles offer lightweight durability and fitting features such as adjustable temple tips and adjustable built-up nose pads or universal-fit adjustable nose pads. The sunglass styles’ lenses provide a splash of cool with 100% UV protection and mirrored lenses for the Willow sun model.
Innotec countercards, logo blocks, and large window banners are available upon request.

TO THE MARKET
“New sunglasses are purchased on average every 3.5 years; prescription glasses a good 4.5 years. This is not so for accessories, and we believe that this is how it should be for eyewear, too. EYEYE is an accessory which you can change at the same speed with which you change your mobile phone cover, following the trend of the moment.”
— Giovanni Accongiagioco, managing director and co-founder, Italia Independent
