Sipping wine sets the stage for enjoyment. It has turned into a modern peace pipe with a unifying toast to happy events, new pacts, and reflective moments. Wine gives a little comfort and heart health at the end of the day and a little laughter and romance in fun times. Between 2000 and today, U.S. residents have nearly doubled their wine consumption, notes The Wine Institute.
Optical consumers have also ramped up their consumption of eyewear inspired by the fruit of the vine. One of the most successful additions to the traditional black, brown, and tortoise color palette embraced by American consumers, these hues range from the creamy yellows of Pinot Grigio and the pretty pinks of rosé to the rich, deep tones of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
This spring, a fresh press of eyeglasses and sunglasses will come to market—a full bouquet of style ready to get those whose tastes range from conservative to edgy to pick up their glasses and say “cheers!”

Wine and Fashion…
Mix and Match
If fashion is one of your passions and wine is another, consider these pairings…does your taste in wine match your taste in clothing?
➜ Festival Chick Chic is more sophisticated than a hippie. There’s still fringe and bohemian styling, but with an edge. A rich Shiraz, fruity with a dash of white pepper in its bouquet from Australia’s Hippie wines in the Margaret River region, keeps things mellow.
➜ Minimalist Miss keeps her fashions way clean with color blocking and architecture details, and opts for one of California’s minimalist wines made without additives or enzymes, such as Roark Wine Co.’s Rosé.
➜ Garden Girl loves an organic look with floral prints and colors and sips a crisp French Chenin Blanc with its aromas of honey, honeysuckle, straw, and melon.
➜ Sport to Street Player is never one to slow down, or sacrifice style, opting for “athleasure” from the studio to the store. Her wine throws some support behind her favorite athlete turned vintner, such as Drew Bledsoe’s Doubleback Winery Cabernet Sauvignon.
