Charmant debuts eco-friendly line
Targeting style-conscious and environmentally savvy millennials, Charmant has launched awear, an eco-conscious eyewear and sunwear line with a focus on fashion. There are seven ophthalmic and two sunglass styles for a total of 38 SKUs. The line offers men’s, women’s, and unisex styles, with each style in at least four colors, from dark gray hues to violet.
Awear embraces eco-friendly materials and design processes. All frames are made with a recyclable, bio-based plastic and biodegradable demo lenses (made from polylactic acid, a carbon-neutral material), and frame cases and displays utilize recycled material. The plastic used for awear frames also features high chemical resistance, eliminating the need for the typical spray coating and translating to water conservation in production. Retail pricing ranges from $174 (ophthalmic) to $199.99 (sun).
