New: Authentic Ray-Ban Rx Lenses
Luxottica has announced an Rx program for its popular Ray-Ban sunwear and ophthalmic lines that allows patients “to combine the style they love with the prescription they need.” Launched first in Italy, the program is now available to U.S. eyecare professionals.
Using digital lens surfacing technology, each Rx lens will be surfaced to match the frame style and meet the visual requirements of the individual prescription. With colors ranging from standard G-15 to the very popular flash and gradients, each pair of prescription Ray-Bans will be authentic to the original designs, the company notes.
The prescription lenses look identical to the original classics, including Ray-Ban’s “stamp of authenticity”—the Ray-Ban logo in the corner of the right lens, and the Ray-Ban initials engraved on the left.
The ordering process is simple, Luxottica says, and features competitive wholesale prices. A “good-better-best” proposal on all available frames gives customers the ability to choose the frame-and-lens option that’s best for them. After ordering the frame and lens options, the finished product is delivered to opticians and retailers in six days.

Blue Light Protection
Wiley X has launched WX Blue, a blue-light-filtering AR treatment that also helps alleviate the symptoms of digital eye strain. WX Blue AR selectively filters out the high-energy potentially harmful blue light while letting the beneficial turquoise blue light pass through.
By filtering the blue light—which tends to scatter easily, causing blurriness and decreases in color contrast—the lens reduces the visual discomfort often identified as digital eye strain. It also offers complete UV and glare reflection protection (even on the back side) and premium scratch resistance, and is super-oleophobic and anti-static for easy cleaning.
