Totally Blue, Totally FSV

In an effort to arm ECPs with blue-light-filtration solutions for every patient, Signet Armorlite has expanded its line of Kodak Total Blue lenses to include finished single-vision lenses in 1.60 and aspheric 1.67.

These FSV lenses join a Kodak Total Blue Lens portfolio that includes Kodak-branded progressive lenses, computer lenses, and digitally enhanced single-vision lenses.

Kodak Total Blue is a hybrid of lens material and AR lens coating that filters up to 80% of harmful blue light, eases eye strain and fatigue, reduces glare, and provides 100% UV protection.

Photochromic Goes Multifocal

VISION EASE has introduced two new lens designs to its photochromic line: D35 bifocal and 7x28 trifocal lenses.

These designs, available in gray, offer fast activation and fast fade-back. Additionally, they block 43% of blue light indoors, and 91% of blue light outdoors.

The rest of the VISION EASE photochromic lens line, launched in 2016, includes SFSV, D28 bifocal, and Novel progressive designs.

HIPAA Compliance Made Easy

Practice management services provider Eyefinity has entered a partnership with technology startup Abyde to provide customers with an easy-to-use HIPAA compliance management application.

Abyde is a cloud-based software solution that enables ECPs to easily attain and sustain internal HIPAA compliance programs by walking them through risk analysis, ongoing compliance, policy, procedure, and HIPAA training requirements. Users will be notified via email when they need to address a compliance item. The program will then require users to log in and answer a few questions, and at the end of the process it will generate all documentation necessary to meet the Meaningful Use, MACRA, and MIPS Risk Analysis Core Measures and Objectives.

Alcon has new, U.S.-specific packaging for its DAILIES AquaComfort Plus (DACP) spherical contact lenses in 90-, 30-, and five-packs to assist patients with proper lens wear and care. It is the first of several planned packaging changes to promote successful lens wear, Alcon notes.
