A&A Optical has announced an exclusive licensing agreement for the design, development, and distribution of Cremieux Eyewear, which will launch in fall 2017. The agreement includes the distribution of men’s ophthalmic eyewear in the U.S. and multiple countries around the world.
Safilo and Authentic Brands Group signed a five-year extension of their license agreement for the design, manufacture, and distribution of the Juicy Couture eyewear collections (sunwear and ophthalmic). The agreement will run until Dec. 31, 2022.

Bausch + Lomb has announced changes to its management team: Joseph Gordon, senior vice president and general manager, U.S. Consumer Healthcare, will expand his role to include the U.S. Vision Care business; Tracy Valorie, senior vice president and general manager, U.S. Pharmaceuticals, will expand her role to include the U.S. Surgical business; John Ferris, most recently the vice president of marketing for Bausch + Lomb’s OTC Vitamin portfolio, will serve as the vice president and general manager for U.S. Vision Care; and Chuck Hess, vice president and general manager for U.S. Surgical, will oversee the daily operations of the business.
Envision has named Güler Arsal, Ph.D., and Rajkumar Nallour Raveendran as its third incoming class of fellows to conduct post-doctoral research on low vision rehabilitation at the Envision Research Institute.
Laura Dorris of Vision West has been named to the Board of Directors of the Optical Women’s Association (OWA). Dorris has been a member of the OWA since 2013. Since then, she has served as the co-chair of the Program Committee and as a member of the Digital Marketing Committee.
The Board of Directors of Safilo appointed Eugenio Razelli as chairman. Razelli has been a member of the board since 2010 and was the CEO of Magneti Marelli S.p.A. from 2005 to 2015.
Transitions Optical has announced the renewal of its Diversity Advisory Board members for 2017: researcher Allert Brown-Gort, Brian Chou, O.D., Diana Canto-Sims, O.D., health activist Mila Ferrer, Edwin Marshall, O.D., Kirk Smick, O.D., and Vincent K. Young, M.D.
WestGroupe USA appointed Gino Skulick III to the position of western regional sales director. Skulick joins WestGroupe with more than a decade of experience in the optical industry in both sales and leadership roles.

CooperVision has become the first major contact lens manufacturer to join The Vision Council, with a goal of helping to ensure contact lenses are represented in all of The Vision Council’s research, advocacy, and awareness campaigns.
Envision announced a merger between the Envision Broadcast Network and Rocking M Media, LLC, a Manhattan, KS-based media company, representing Envision’s goal of expanding employment opportunities in the radio industry for people who are blind or visually impaired.
OneSight announced the five partner programs that will receive 2017 grants for school-based vision centers as part of its Focus on Sight Program: Albany Area Primary Healthcare’s program at Alice Coachman Elementary School in Albany, GA; La Clinica de la Raza’s program at Youth Heart Health Center in Oakland, CA; Advanced Center for Eyecare’s program serving the Delano Union School District in Delano, CA; Cincinnati Health Department’s program at the Academy of World Languages in Cincinnati, OH; and Community HealthNet’s program at Calumet High School in Gary, IN.

Digital Eye Lab, a division of ABB Optical Group, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. It was the first fully automated optical lab in the U.S. dedicated solely to digital lens fabrication.
Through donations from L’Amy America’s holiday charity program, VOSH International outfitted every patient at a recent mission clinic in Mexico with sunglasses.

MOREL TO HEAD SILMO
The Board of Directors of the SILMO Association elected Amélie Morel, communications director at Morel, as the new president of the SILMO Paris Exhibition. Morel is part of the fourth generation to manage the family business, alongside her brothers Jérôme and Francis.
Morel succeeds Philippe Lafont in the role. Lafont passed away in March.
“This nomination represents an honor for the Morel family, and for me in particular,” Morel said in a statement. “It is a demanding task, one that Philippe fulfilled with outstanding devotion and professionalism.”
