This new augmented reality mobile app creates a high-tech way to learn and demonstrate the features of Shamir’s lenses. The interactive Shamir Augmented Reality (AR) mobile app—available for download from Apple and Google Play stores—turns a smart phone camera into an AR viewer (no bulky headgear is required). The AR technology superimposes computer-generated images onto the real-world view through the smart phone, allowing ECPs to show rather than tell patients what the lenses can do. Zeiss launches a hand-held tablet that—using the tablet’s UV camera and special UV light technology—shows how much UV is blocked by the patient’s own glasses vs. lenses with Zeiss UVProtect technology (available in every Zeiss clear lens). It will be featured at the Discover Center in the lobby at Vision Expo and at the Zeiss booth. Preorders are being taken for spring delivery.
