Top 12 Tones for Fall 2019 

Dark Cheddar, Orange Tiger, and Sugar Almond. Intriguing names aside, the color palette for Fall is rich, delectable, and surprising.

The experts at the Pantone Color Institute have pinpointed 12 standout hues from the Fall/Winter 19/20 New York Fashion Week runways for the upcoming season. And, it’s a multifaceted mix of savory and sweet (like Chili Pepper or Peach Pink) and adventurous and thoughtful (such as Biking Red or Galaxy Blue).

“Colors for Autumn/Winter 2019-2020 range from easy and sophisticated to strikingly different and unique,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “This palette of versatile hues builds a sense of empowerment and confidence, enabling the wearer to choose the colors that best reflect his or her mood and persona.”

To bring this new palette to life, we scoured Fall/Winter 19/20 runways from New York to Milan plus ID’d the hottest, tone-trendy eyewear styles.

1. BIKING RED

This deep red rocked the Rebecca Minkoff runway, topped off with the brand’s Gloria 2 frame from Safilo.

2. BLUESTONE

Marc Jacobs has got it covered with this thoughtful blue hue.

3. CHILI PEPPER

The Roberto Cavalli RC5093 from Marcolin turns up the heat.

4. DARK CHEDDAR

Out-of-this-world style was achieved on the Max Mara runway. Plus, the brand’s MM Linda sunglass from Safilo added a touch of bold blue embellished by an all-over crocodile pattern.
