Envision named Amy Britton VP of development for Envision Dallas, which serves 150,000 individuals who are blind or low vision living in 11 North Texas counties. Britton, a certified fundraising executive, brings more than 16 years of experience with nonprofits to the role.
I-deal Optics appointed Jan Cory as executive VP and chief commercial officer. Cory previously held senior roles at Luxottica, Viva/Marcolin, Silhouette, and IDOC.
Optometry Giving Sight appointed Anne Marie Hand, MPH, as executive director, N.A. Eric Anderson, who served as the interim executive director for the past year, will remain as the organization’s lead fundraiser.
BUSINESS UPDATES
ABB Optical Group commenced distribution of contact lenses to Canadian ECPs. The company has opened a distribution center in Delta, British Columbia, and will employ approximately 20 staff members, with plans for expansion later in the year.
Cherry Optical Lab (COL) announced an addition and remodel, scheduled for completion in August. To expand its production area, 6,500 square feet of new space will be built along with remodeling existing storage areas and offices. This addition will tie COL’s three main buildings together, making for one cohesive campus totaling 32,900 square feet.
The Eye Designs Group has reached an agreement to acquire Fashion Optical Displays, which has offered the optical industry interior design services for more than 40 years.
Eyefinity, a VSP Global company, has once again achieved accreditation for the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission, which recognizes excellence in health data processing and ensures compliance with industry-established standards and HIPAA regulations.

◄ Ahlem Eyewear’s new NoLIta store won an NYCx-DESIGN award from Interior Design magazine in the “Small Retail/Pop Up” category. The location was designed by Brooklyn architecture and interiors firm Shapeless Studio.
VSP Global and the Heart of America Eye Care Congress announced the recipient of the inaugural Dr. Frank D. Fontana Memorial Scholarship: Nicholas A. Holtzman, B.S, M.S., a student at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry.

Prevent Blindness announced Children’s Vision Rehabilitation Program at West Virginia University as the recipient of the 2020 Jenny Pomeroy Award for Excellence in Vision and Public Health. The recipient of the organization’s inaugural Rising Visionary Award is Araba Otoo, a third-year optometry student at The Ohio State University.
