Pure Innovation
A trio of trendsetting concepts showcased at Vision Expo West.
1 See the Rainbow
As consumers seek expressive designs, brilliantly colorful sunglasses and ophthalmic frames took center stage. Case in point: At the Catch London booth, attendees were able to experience the Tom Davies Acetate Kitchen, a Willy Wonka-evoking material production concept that allows users to design one-of-a-kind plates for frames via colorful pellets of acetate (pictured here).
2 Spectacularly Sporty
“Athluxury” is fashion’s new take on athleisure, shares Vogue in a recent New York Fashion Week trend report. This rang true at Vision Expo West—with sport brands bringing their A game. In line with sporty specs fanatics, Oakley ambassador and NHL star Nic Hague drew a crowd to the EssilorLuxottica booth.
3 Tailored Solutions
The industry is lending a helping hand with omnichannel. Take Abby, for example, a smiling face seen at the ABB Optical Group booth, emblematic of the company’s new e-commerce platform that aims to support and cater to both eyecare practitioners and patients.
VIVA LAS VEGAS
The industry reunited from Sept. 14-17 in the City of Lights as an action-packed Vision Expo West generated eyewear styles galore, events in some of the hottest venues Vegas has to offer, and timely industry education.
