ZEISS
ClearView SV Lenses
Zeiss has released ClearView single-vision (SV) lenses, designed to offer the advantages of free-form-optimized SV lenses with the cost benefit of standard SV lenses.
According to Zeiss, stock lenses—which come with low costs and fast delivery times—are a common choice for the 75% of spectacle lens wearers worldwide who use SV lenses.
Zeiss shares that ClearView lenses incorporate attributes of complex SV free-form lens designs into standard SV lenses as both surfaced and stock lenses. Combined with free-form lens design, ClearView Single Vision’s ClearForm technology enables complex lens designs that, according to Zeiss, were possible only in surfaced SV lenses. The company shares that its advanced free-form technology employs 700 free parameters to deliver, on average, three times larger zones of vision clarity in lenses that are up to 6% thinner and 49% flatter compared with standard SV lenses.
ClearView lenses come standard with full UV protection and are also available with Zeiss’s DuraVision Lens Coatings, DuraVision AntiVirus Platinum, and Zeiss BlueGuard.

SHAMIR
Spark 4
Shamir has released Spark 4, a digital measurement device that can analyze patients’ pupils clearly through clear lenses, sunglasses, and different lens coatings in varying light conditions.
According to the company, Spark 4 utilizes an electro-optic system based on stereo vision 3D technology with six high-resolution camera sensors totaling 24 megapixels.
Shamir shares that users can get an automatic measurement of the pupillary distance with one picture via Spark 4’s artificial intelligence pupil detection, which draws upon 192 facial landmarks. Additionally, this provides ECPs with the option to complete the measuring process after the customer leaves the store.
Spark 4’s auto-detection abilities will improve and evolve over time due to its AI technology, according to Shamir.
