This month reveals increases across the board for exams and specific product sales for May 2023 compared with May 2022; specifically, exams saw a 7.96% increase in this data set.

GPN shares that the proportion of frame sales to men lag those to women and fall short of the male proportion of the population. GPN analyzed over 18 million frame transactions between January 2019 and April 2023 from 2,200-plus U.S. eyecare practices in its database, looking at the share of frame purchasers by gender and by geography, and compared the gender ratios of frame sales with those in the U.S. population. The difference between sales and population shares by gender are illustrated below.
