The exhibit show of the 40th anniversary edition of Vision Expo kicked off at the Orange County Convention Center on March 12 in Orlando, Florida. To discuss highlights from the 2026 trade show, EB heard from The Vision Council CEO Ashley Mills.
"I think one of the biggest differences for us this year is that this marks the transition into us having one annual catalyzing event for the whole entire optical industry, and it will not disappoint this year," she said.
She discussed show floor exhibitor highlights, including fully customizable eyewear from Thema Optical to Eschenbach's Optaro XL, which helps low vision patients by turning an iPad into a full-featured video magnifier. Other highlights included the featuring of over 220 hours of accredited continuing education and three stages for events and presentations. Mills also discussed The Vision Council's latest advocacy work on Capitol Hill.
"This show supports our work in advocacy and research and consumer awareness about products and also the value of vision," shared Mills.
