Sept. 6, 2023 — Myopia Profile has launched the inaugural Myopia Action Month, an initiative designed to inspire eyecare professionals worldwide into action to combat the escalating prevalence of childhood myopia. The international program offers free online seminars, lectures by industry experts, and educational resources advancing myopia management as the standard of care.
Created in conjunction with Myopia Action Month sponsors, the curriculum was informed by feedback collected by Myopia Profile’s online survey and includes evidence-based and clinically relevant educational materials, practice tools, and online resources. Programming highlights include the following:
Myopia Management Made Simple is a free one-hour course that gathers the latest myopia research and evidence-based treatment options into a concise, practical format intended to build clinician confidence and capability in caring for young myopes.
The Myopia Action Month Online Seminar Series features internationally recognized experts sharing the latest in myopia research, treatments, and techniques. Myopia Profile will close each seminar with a lecture on the following topics: building myopia knowledge, educating your practice team, setting up your systems, and evolving one step. Available live or on demand, a new 90-minute seminar will debut each week of Myopia Action Month. Event times have been chosen to maximize access for ECPs worldwide:
- Thursday, September 7, 12:30-2 a.m. GMT
- Tuesday, September 12, 6:30-8 a.m. GMT
