Dec. 13, 2023 — The National Health Council (NHC) has elected officers and members for its 2024 board of directors at its annual membership meeting, which took place on Dec. 12.
Prevent Blindness president and CEO Jeff Todd was named chair of the NHC Board of Directors along with other members of the newly elected executive committee: chair-elect Schroeder Stribling, president and CEO of Mental Health America; vice chair Michael Osso, president and CEO of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation; secretary Sue Peschin, president and CEO of the Alliance for Aging Research; treasurer Harold Wimmer, national president and CEO of the American Lung Association; and immediate past chair Kenny Mendez, president and CEO of the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America. Mendez, Osso, Stribling, Wimmer, and Julie Gerberding, M.D., CEO of the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, have been reelected to the board with new three-year terms.
Additionally, the following seven new members have joined the 2024 NHC Board of Directors: Charles Henderson, CEO of the American Diabetes Association; Louise Vetter, resident and CEO of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America; Jorey Berry, president and CEO of the Immune Deficiency Foundation; Kathryn G. Schubert, president and CEO of the Society for Women’s Health Research; Michael Ybarra, M.D., chief medical officer of PhRMA; Sunita Mishra, M.D., chief medical officer of Amazon Health Services; and Michele M. Oshman, vice president of external affairs at Biotechnology Innovation Organization.
