March 29, 2023 — The American Optometric Association (AOA) has announced the schedule of events for Optometry’s Meeting, set to take place June 21-24 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., under the banner “Voicing Your Vision.”
Optometry’s Meeting invites eyecare industry professionals to four days of continuing education, professional development, networking opportunities, and business solutions—plus, a special focus on professional advocacy in the nation’s capital.
Kicking off the event, founder and CEO of Change Enthusiasm Global Cassandra Worthy will present the keynote to share her framework for disrupting “change as usual” during the opening reception on Wednesday, June 21, from 7 to 10 p.m. Worthy uses her more than 10 years of experiences with mergers and acquisitions to inspire attendees to become enthusiastic about change and discover their power of resilience during turbulent times.
Some highlights from the robust schedule of programming include the AOA+ Advocacy Workshop, where attendees can learn to become more effective advocates; the AOA Foundation Run/Walk, which benefits Optometry Cares; and the AOA Awards and Hall of Fame Reception, which will honor the 2023 AOA Award recipients.
