Jan. 6, 2023 — The Vision Council (TVC) has announced the relaunch of VisionPAC, a move that aims to “enhance the vision community’s reputation among government officials and strengthen its impact on public policy through collaboration and formation of strategic alliances,” shares TVC.
According to TVC, VisionPAC was created to uphold TVC’s mission of positioning its members for success by promoting growth in the vision care industry through education, advocacy, research, consumer outreach, strategic relationship building, and industry forums. TVC has already established relationships with congressional staff, which TVC shares have been crucial when it comes to educating congressional offices about vision care and the interest of TVC members.
In 2022, TVC’s government relations department increased member engagement by more than 200%, particularly by advocating for tariff relief and exclusions and by responding to agency requests. Other governmental bodies the department has engaged with are the U.S. Trade Representative, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the National Economic Council.
TVC members should anticipate a prior authorization form, which will be sent out in the coming weeks. The form must be completed before any funds may be solicited from eligible employees of member companies. Once it is sent out, the form will also be available here.
