April 11, 2024 — The Global Myopia Awareness Coalition (GMAC) has announced its 2024 board of directors. GMAC shares that this reinforces its commitment to raising awareness and greater understanding of childhood myopia as a treatable disease.
The following industry professionals comprise the 2024 GMAC Board of Directors:
- Jennifer Lambert, senior director of global myopia management at CooperVision
- Olga Prenat, head of medical and professional affairs, global and EMEA, at EssilorLuxottica
- Enzu Jeon, senior director of global strategic marketing for the Pediatric Eye Health Stronghold at Johnson & Johnson Vision
- François Couillard, CEO of the Canadian Association of Optometrists
- Matt Geller, O.D., cofounder and CEO of Eyes on Eyecare
- Nitin Jain, president, Americas, of Euclid Vision Group
- Bill Scott, president of Jobson Healthcare Information
- Lori Archer, CEO of UnitedHealthcare Vision
- Sandra Block, O.D., MED, MPH, president of the World Council of Optometry
- Lisa McAlister, head of regional strategy and marketing, EMEA at Johnson & Johnson Vision
The industry-led coalition seeks to promote public awareness of childhood myopia as a treatable disease through direct-to-consumer channels and governments, nonprofits, and other health care associations. Rather than advocate for specific clinical approaches, GMAC’s mission is to stimulate public interest and prompt parental conversations with eyecare providers.
