Dec. 5, 2024 — VSP Vision has introduced the VSP Vision Future Leaders Academy, a professional development initiative aimed at supporting recent optometry graduates and early-career optometrists. The program, set to run from March to November 2025, is designed to help participants develop essential leadership skills, gain industry insights, and strengthen their professional networks.

The Future Leaders Academy will offer a hybrid curriculum, including both virtual and in-person components, for a cohort of 30 participants. The program includes education sessions focused on leadership, business, and industry-specific topics; one-on-one mentorship with senior-level optometrists; small group leadership lab discussions; and networking events.

Participation is open to optometrists in the first seven years of their careers, with travel expenses covered for required in-person events taking place March 28-29 and Nov. 14-15. Applications will be reviewed by a selection panel to assess candidates based on their commitment to optometry, patient care, and leadership potential. The deadline to apply is Jan. 25.
