ABB Optical Group is accepting registrations for its 11th annual Optometry Student Challenge, an educational competition designed for third- and fourth-year optometry students. Participants will submit an abstract detailing a student-based case report or research study project for a chance to win a $1,500 travel grant to attend the 2026 Global Specialty Lens Symposium (GSLS).
Registration for the competition is open through Aug. 31. Students will have until Oct. 14 to submit abstracts on topics related to contact lenses. Subject areas may include applications for presbyopia, keratoconus, corneal topography, myopia management, lens care, custom soft lenses, ortho-k, or sports and performance vision.
Six finalists will be selected based on judges’ evaluations and notified by Oct. 20. These finalists will be required to convert their abstracts into poster PDF formats, due by Nov. 27, and will present their work at a virtual event on Dec. 11.
“Watching these bright minds tackle complex cases with such creativity reminds us why we're passionate about this profession and reinforces our dedication to nurturing excellence in eye care from the very beginning of a practitioner's journey," says ABB Optical Group CEO Daniel Liberman.
