The American Optometric Association (AOA) and the World Council of Optometry (WCO) have announced the top five poster submissions selected for presentation during a live education session at Optometry’s Meeting | 5th World Congress of Optometry. The joint event will be held June 25-28 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis.
This year marks a new collaboration between the AOA and WCO, featuring selected contributions from members of both organizations. Accepted in-person poster submissions, provided by WCO, will be presented live at the event, while live-virtual posters, provided by AOA, will be presented during a virtual session on May 29. Virtual presenters will have the opportunity to engage with attendees in a real-time question-and-answer segment.
The following posters were selected for the 2025 Poster Session:
- “Prevalence of Refractive Error and Visual Impairment of School Children of the Dominican Republic,” by Hector Santiago, OD, PhD, FAAO
- “Lyme Meningitis in a Pediatric Patient,” by Emily Deng, OD
- “Development of a Deep Learning Model for Detecting Mild, Moderate, and Severe Glaucoma,” by Mikayla Kaliski; Jorge Cuadros, OD, PhD; Xuan Jiang; Christina Lin, MD; Joshua Foreman; and Jason Ng, MD
