For the 13th year in a row, CooperVision’s Juana Díaz manufacturing facility has been honored by the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association (PRMA) for achievements in sustainability and occupational health and safety. In 2025, the site received the PRMA President’s Award for maintaining a low workplace injury rate and the Platinum Recycling Award for diverting over 90% of nonhazardous waste from landfills. It also earned Eco Label Certification for LEED Gold status and Zero Waste Facility Program Certification through SCS Global Services.
EssilorLuxottica has signed an agreement to acquire the optical division of South Korean company PUcore, including all assets related to the development, manufacturing, and sale of monomers used in high-index ophthalmic lenses. The acquisition includes a research and development unit, a materials production facility, a sales office in South Korea, and an intellectual property portfolio covering product formulations and production processes. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions.
