Zachary Milam has been appointed vice president of sales for De Rigo Rem. Milam brings more than 20 years of optical industry experience, including leadership roles at Morel Eyewear and Etnia Barcelona. A licensed optician and certified American Board of Opticians speaker, he will oversee De Rigo Rem’s sales strategy and partner network across North America.

Matt MacDonald, president and global head of managed care at EyeMed Vision Care, has been appointed chair, succeeding Jim McGrann of Advancing Eyecare, who was named board emeritus member.

Three new Board members were elected: Lori A. Archer, former CEO of UnitedHealthcare Vision; Paul Delatore, global head of market access at Alcon; and Cadmus Rich, MD, MBA, principal consultant at ClearSight LLC and chief medical officer at Visara, Inc., who will also serve as board treasurer. Jacqueline Herd, DNP, RN, was re-elected board secretary.

Michael C. Vitale of The Vision Council was elected chief volunteer officer co-chair of the Prevent Blindness Affiliate Association and will join the board as a voting member. Amy Pulles of Prevent Blindness Ohio was re-elected CEO co-chair and will serve as a non-voting member.
Natalia Trela-McDonald has been named senior director of R&D and technology at SightGlass Vision. Trela-McDonald previously spent nearly 14 years at PowerPhotonic, where she led product development and oversaw the company’s U.K. business in advanced optical components. In her new role, she will lead development of next-generation lens designs and materials, including efforts to advance the company’s contrast-management technology used in its DOT myopia control spectacle lenses.
Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) has appointed Tony Sommer to its board of directors. Sommer brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in specialty vision care and medical technology, most recently serving as general manager, Americas, for CooperVision and CooperVision Specialty EyeCare, where he oversaw growth across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.

Charmant Group has signed an exclusive global licensing agreement with sports brand Head to design, develop, and distribute Head-branded optical frames and sunglasses. Charmant assumed full responsibility for the line in January 2025, with the first products scheduled to launch in January 2026. An international leader in ski, tennis, and swimming equipment since the late 1940s, Head is expanding its brand into eyewear through the partnership.
