Jan. 8, 2025 — The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) has announced plans to host a OWA Global Event at the Mido international trade show, taking place Feb. 8-10 in Milan, aimed at fostering international connections and spotlighting women leaders in the optical industry.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the event, “Breaking Optical Barriers: Women Who Conquered the Climb to Success,” will feature a panel discussion with prominent executives sharing their experiences and perspectives. The session will be moderated by OWA vice president Megan Molony and will include contributions from Malika Azrine-Bouferguene of EssilorLuxottica, Barbara Salimbeni of Marchon Eyewear, and Sara Osculati of Thelios. Panelists will address topics such as overcoming gender bias, managing work-life balance, and navigating corporate challenges.

The event will begin with opening remarks from Lorraine Berton, president of both the Italian Optical Manufacturers Association and the Mido international trade show. It will also provide opportunities for networking, accompanied by cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
