Jan. 16, 2025 — Enrico Sanavia has been appointed as global chief executive officer of luxury eyewear brand Ahlem. Sanavia brings extensive experience in brand development, market expansion, and growth strategies. Previously, Sanavia served as head of Americas at Thelios, where he led regional growth and significantly contributed to the success of luxury eyewear brands such as Celine, Dior, and Fendi.
Marco D’Acunzo has been appointed CEO of Marcolin’s North American market. With more than 15 years of experience in sales and marketing across the auto, sports, and hospitality industries, D’Acunzo will spearhead the launch of new licensed brands including Christian Louboutin, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Hollister.
National Vision Holdings Inc. has announced changes to its executive leadership team. Melissa Rasmussen, the company’s chief financial officer, will leave her position following a transition period to pursue an opportunity in another industry. Megan Molony, chief merchandising and managed care officer, will now lead manufacturing and distribution, uniting all managed vision care functions under a single organizational structure. Mark Banner, previously chief stores officer, has been named president of America’s Best. He will focus on transforming the in-store experience for the brand, as well as overseeing store design and clinical services. Priti Patel, OD, formerly chief medical officer, is now general manager of Eyeglass World, Fred Meyer, and Military operations. Dr. Patel aims to strengthen the Eyeglass World brand and provide fresh leadership perspectives for these entities. Expanded roles include Joe VanDette as chief brand and marketing officer, Jared Brandman as chief legal and strategy officer, and Bill Clark as chief people officer, who will take on additional responsibilities in transformation, enterprise project management, and change management.
Tangible Science Inc. has announced a leadership transition with Karen Havenstrite, PhD, MBA, cofounder and former chief technology officer, taking over as chief executive officer. She succeeds Victor McCray, MD, who has led the company for 12 years and will now serve as executive chairman of the board. Dr. Havenstrite, who cofounded Tangible Science and invented the Hydra-PEG coating technology, has been with the company since its inception.
