A virtual roundtable titled “Tackling the Myopia Crisis” will take place on World Children’s Day, Nov. 20, bringing together international experts to discuss large-scale approaches to protecting children’s vision. The event will feature speakers from the International Myopia Institute, the World Health Organization, leading academic institutions, and advocacy groups.
Confirmed speakers include professor Serge Resnikoff, chair of the International Myopia Institute; professor Dominique Bremond-Gignac of University Hospital Necker–Enfants Malades and Paris Cité University; Stuart Keel, PhD, technical officer with the World Health Organization’s Vision and Eye Care Program; Jacqueline Grove, CEO of The Coalition for Clear Vision; and Marius de Beer, chief sustainability officer at Hoya Vision Care.
Sessions will cover epidemiological trends, policy developments, national case studies, equity considerations, and partnership models, including industry initiatives such as Hoya Vision Care’s “One Vision” sustainability program. The program will also include practical recommendations, a brief consensus statement, and an audience Q&A.
