EssilorLuxottica held its first Switch: Vision Innovation Summit for the Americas from March 9-11, attracting more than 1,000 participants, including doctors, scientists, academics, entrepreneurs, and cultural leaders. The event focused on developments in vision care, wearable technology, and health care innovation.
The summit featured keynote presentations, workshops, interactive demonstrations, and networking opportunities. Sessions covered topics such as artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart eyewear, neuroscience, oculomics, and new approaches to myopia and presbyopia management.
Experts discussed the growing role of smart eyewear, including devices developed in partnership with Meta, and highlighted emerging technologies that use eye data to support preventive health care. The summit also addressed the intersection of vision and hearing health, with participants exploring wearable solutions for sensory wellness.
Attendees had the opportunity to experience new products and technologies firsthand at the Switch Experience Center and participate in accredited clinical workshops on topics such as AI-driven diagnostics and personalized lens technology.
Key speakers included AI expert Dr. Rana el Kaliouby, actress Jane Lynch, NBA champion JR Smith, and style expert Bobbie Thomas, who shared insights on vision health, wearable technology, and consumer experiences.
